Hailing from Birmingham, The Idle Race garnered a cult following in the late 1960’s and early 70’s and are revered as part of British Pop Rock History.  This run out groove release, pressed here onto clear vinyl, contains a mixture of alternate takes as well as mono and stereo tracks from The Idle Race’s catalogue, including the singles “The End of The Road”, “The Skeleton and the Roundabout” and “Here We Go ‘Round The Lemon Tree”.

The band had fans in well-known circles and often performed with popular groups such as Status Quo and Pink Floyd, as well as having BBC DJ’s John Peel and Kenny Everett as fans.  Despite never reaching dizzying commercial heights, The Idle Race set a strong precedent for British Pop-Rock and are definitely a must-have in any Pop-Rock fan’s collection.
